Because of its catastrophic history it has few great monuments of the past, but, paradoxically, only in Tokyo can you experience the perfect equilibrium between traditional Japan, with its Buddhist and Shinto religious festivals, age-old customs and exquisite courtesy and the dynamic new society of electronics, computers and modernist architecture. It is this combination of the old and the new that make Tokyo a unique and inimitable city Vissza
