There were moments of anxiety too-Rajesh was stung by a deadly scorpion in Corbett National Park, with the nearest dispensary 50 kilometres away; the Bedis stood transfixed, watching the hair-raising activities of the Chambal dacoits. The result is a book that is at once authoritative and spell-binding, informative and anecdotal.
