GILBERT, who teaches philosophy at York University in Ontario,. learned how to argue on the streets of Flatbush, Brooklyn, New York, in order not to have his head knocked off. Later, at Hunter College, he hung out in the halls throwing trick questions at his professors. Nonetheless, he received a Ph.D., from Waterloo University in Canada, and has taught a course at the University of Toronto called How to Win an Argument. Vissza
