Herbert Burkholz is a native New Yorker who has lived much of his adult life in Spain, Mexico, Italy, and Greece. He is the author of eight books, including the critically acclaimed novel The Spanish Soldier, and his articles have appeared in the New York Times Magazine, Playboy, and other publications. Formerly Writer-in-Residence at The College of William and Mary in Virginia, he now lives in Woodstock, New York.
