Note: New Oxford Supplementary Readers are now published in eight grades (1-3, 2A and 3A, 4-6). All contain plenty of illustrations.
Grades 2A and 3A are at much the same language level as Grades 2 and 3, but the stories are more adult. They are intended for older children who started English at a later age than users of Grades 2 and 3. Pupils who have made slow progress with Grades 2 and 3 can also use them before going on to Grade 4.
