Japan and Hungary are separated by ten thousand miles, but the two people are language relatives, even they share somé genes. The world has become inter-ested not only in the spectacular rise of the Japanese economy, not only in the opening of the first door on the Iron Curtain by Hungary, but in the achievements of the two countries in science education as well, in-dicated by international assessments. About hundred of the most active physics teachers from Japan and Hungary met in a small Hungárián town of Jászberény, famed for the thousand years old horn of the legendary chieftain Lehel, but alsó for its successful high school. The teachers listened to comparative reviews about the educational systems in the two countries, but is has become more important, that they did show each other their ways of teaching physics. A proceedings volume cannot bring alive the cableless optical communication presented by Japanese, or the live atomic physics pro-duced by Hungarians, cannot show... Tovább
