The journal you have in your hand is a publication of ELGI, the Eötvös Loránd Geophysical Institute of Hungary. Not only does this journal publish the best results of Hungarian geophysicists, it also publishes papers from authors all over the world. The principal aim of the journal is to publish the results of geophysical methodological and instrumental investigations, however papers on regional geological problems are also welcome.
The journal was founded in 1952 and is published quarterly in English, with Russian and Hungarian abstracts. It is distributed in 45 countries to more than 1500 readers. Should you now have reached a decision to submit a manuscript to us, may we help you with its preparation.

Submission of an article is understood to imply that the article is original and unpublished and is not currently being considered for publication elsewhere. Submit 2 copies (one original) of each technical paper, accompanied by a list of references, a list of figure- and table captions. Manuscripts require an abstract no longer than 250 words. No more than ten technical terms should be proposed as keywords — these are subject to modification by the editor. Complete your manuscript with two sets of illustrations, one set should be on tracing paper with black Indian ink (figures must be numbered in blue pencil, also giving the author's name). Size reduction should be kept in mind. The make-up should be as free of text as possible (a legend is preferable). Sharp, black-and-white photos are acceptable. The place of figures should be indicated in the left margin of the main text. Similarly, Tables should be on separate sheets and the place in the text indicated in the left margin. Footnotes, numbered serially should be collected on a separate list., Greek, Gothic etc. characters should be indicated in the margin. References should be given in the standard form to be found in this journal.
All. contributions submitted in English are considered, but in the case of an author with German, French or Russian mother tongue the Editorial Staff kindly requests that the text be given in the original language too. Papers, submitted in English, and not requiring any revision, are normally published within 6 months. All manuscripts are sent to two reviewers in order to judge the technical value of the paper. With the submitted manuscript, authors are invited to enclose the names and addresses of two suggested reviewers. The final decision on a paper's disposition is made by the Editorial Board.
25 reprints of each article published are supplied free of charge. Additional reprints may be ordered when the corrected proofs are returned.
