"By initiating us into its radically private character , our writing gives us [an] important spiritual lesson. It challenges the assumption of an extroverted, sensate, one-dimensional culture that maintains that what you see is all there is, and that everyone has a right to see all there is of us. It helps to cultivate a private life and introduces us to
the reality of our own inner world, and to the inalienable solitude of our soul
"If, instead of fleeing from this solitude, we can learn to enter it and write from within it, we can begin to experience what it actually means to become one with our writing and to write 'with a mind free from distraction."'
—Francis DorjJ, O. Praem.

T
How can I live more soulfully?
^his is a question with which many of us are strugghng as this time of unprecedented change increasingly threatens us with a loss of soul or inner meaning in our lives.
Simply SoulStirring presents meditative writing as a very practical way of answering this question for ourselves. By harmonizing the centuries-old tradition of confessional writing with the many classical ways of meditating as well as the techniques of the modern renaissance in journaling, this book carefully describes how writing can become a way of getting in touch with the deep stirrings of our own soul and of following them to a more healthy, creative, meaningful and satisfying life.
Simply SoulStirring describes meditative writing as a deeply healing, creative and integrating endeavor that can be of great importance for anyone interested in creative writing, self-discovery and personal and spiritual renewal.
