Sometimes we express them very openly and directly (e.g. 'How dare you!' or 'Thank goodness for that!'); at other times, we may be using language for somé other purpose, but still our feelings are shown by the expressions we choose and the way we say them (e.g. 'Shut that door, can't you?' or 'I wonder why that letter hasn't come yet'). The course teaches students to talk about feelings and situations involving feelings, to understand which feelings are being expressed by others and to express feelings themselves.
