Eric Kroll was born in New York in 1946 and grew up to become an art dealer and freelance photojournal-istfor Der Spiegel, Vogue and Hie magazines before concentrating on erotic and bondage photography. These later photographs rank among the classics of fetishistic imagery. He claims Man Ray, Weegee and Eric Stanton as influences on his work. Kroll's photographs draw one into a world of bizarre phantasies and desires while retaining a sense of irony.
Beauty Parade is the second volume of Eric Kroll's photographs to be published by Taschen, preceded in 1994 by Fetish Girls. In addition Kroll has edited The Complete Reprint of John Willie's Bizarre, Elmer Batters: From the tip of the toes to the top of the hose and The Art Of Eric Stanton, also from Taschen.

Eric Kroll, geboren 1946 in New York, arbeitete zunächst als Galerist und freier Fotograf für den Spiegel, Vogue und Elle, bevor er sich ausschließlich der Bondage- und Erotik-Fotografie widmete. Mittlerweile zählen seine Fotos zu den Klassikern dieses Genres. Zu seinen erklärten Vorbildern zählen Man Ray, Weegee und Eric Stanton.
