Professor Sir Randolph Quirk is a former Vice-Chancellor of the University of London,
the immediate past President of the British Academy, and currently works at University
College London in the Survey of English Usage of which he is the founder.
Professor Gabriele Stein holds the Chair of English Linguistics in the University of
Heidelberg and she was the founding President of the European Association for Lexicography.
