Engiish for Adults is a three-part course designed to take adults from complete beginner stage to upper intermediate level. It is particularly suitable for use in evening classes, language institutes, private schools and study circles. Communicative in approach, it combines the best of conventional and modern techniques, and a thorough grounding in grammar is not neglected.
The material is designed to enable the students' own experience to direct the topical content of the lesson. Using the Coursebook only as a prompt or stimulus there is scope for the student to talk about his own and his colleagues' real world situation and not that of a hypothetical textbook character. While the teacher stili retains control over the language used, his rôle is kept to a minimum as much of the oral communication in class is partner-related.

Part 2 revises the structures introduced in Part 1 and complétés the thorough coverage of basic Engiish structures begun in this book. It increasesthe student's active vocabulary by 700 words, bringing the total for Part 1 and Part 2 to 1,450 words. On completion of Part 2, the student has reached the pre-intermediate level and is able to communicate effectively in authentic Engiish conversation.
