Yann Arthus-Bertrand invites us to journey with him through world realities. His aerial photographs reflect a wide variety of natural habitats and life expressions, but also the imprint of man and his impact on the environment. This body of work depicts the state of the earth in our time, at the beginning of a new millennium.
The photographs and accompanying text are complementary; they invite each of us to reflect upon our planet's evolution and the future of mankind.
The result of a patient investigation started in 1990, these photographs represent 3,000 hours of helicopter flight and cover 85 different countries. Selected from among thousands, they owe their evocative power and moving quality to the eye of Yann Arthus-Bertrand and to his wish to testify to future generations.
This great project is thus a work in progress. There remain dozens of countries to survey and, thanks to the notation of the geographical coordinates of each image, other photographers will be able to... Tovább
