Contrast echocardiography is an important technique with rapidly expanding possibilities for imaging cardiac flow in normal and abnormal states. This multi-authored and multi-disciplinary text brings together, for the first time, a thorough theoretical analysis of the behavior of microbubbles and their interaction with ultrasound, a clinical section on the current uses of echocardiography, and several chapters on the exciting future prospects of using quantitative analysis of precision microbubbles.
