Donald Kaufman, termed "Americas Master Colorist" by Connoisseur, and his coauthor and partner, Taffy Dahl, believe that the rooms we live in can be colored to produce the same enriching atmosphere we experience in nature. Employing some of the same traditional techniques artists have used over the ^centuries, the authors bring the harmony and il^riety of natural color indoors, creating hues with depth and luminosity.
Color: Natural Palettes for Painted Rooms is an essential book for everyone planning to paint the interior of their homes.
Donald Kaufman is the country's foremost architectural color consultant. He and his partner, Taffy Dahl, have developed color schemes for private residences, major museums, art galleries, and public spaces; their work with architects and designers has included collaborations with Philip Johnson, Charles Gwathmey, André Putman, Philippe Starck, and Pei, Cobb, Freed & Partners. Kaufman is also an artist with paintings in the collections of the Whitney Museum, the Museum of Modern Art, and the Hirshhorn Museum. Dahl is a former ceramic sculptor who, with Mr. Kaufman, founded Donald Kaufman Color in 1977. Both authors live in New York City.
