I decided to escape from the car, following the example of a couple of others. The guards in the train conductors' booths and the SS men watching the train shot at the escapees. Chronicles of Terror (ChroniclesofTerror.pl) is an online database of testimonies of Polish citizens who suffered at the hands of two totalitarian regimes - German and Soviet - during World War II. They reflect the personal experiences of thousands of Poles and of their families and loved ones.
The first volume in the Chronicles of Terror series presents the accounts of residents of Warsaw and the surrounding area - victims of Nazi terror.
It is a moving story of a city condemned to death, told in the voices of individual eyewitnesses.
