CHRONICLES OF TERROR WARSAW
During my missions to Warsaw, I witnessed the systematic destruction of the city Blocks of houses were being burned down, quarter by quarter, in accordance with red paint markings on the walls. In addition to the above, buildings of particular value were prepared to be blown up with a large amount of work done in the form of drilling countless holes for explosives.
Then I heard a salvo and I fell on my face. When I was on the ground I felt a man fall on my legs, and others walking on me. The execution continued for 10-15 minutes. Then I heard single shots and people crying: "Finish me off!" "Help!" After several shots, the cries ceased.

Being completely disoriented, I didn't know where to go and how to set about having my son released. However, after another week, I learned from a notice published by the Germans that my son had been executed together with Prof. Okihski and other friends from the tutorials.
I decided to escape from the car, following the example of a couple of others. The guards in the train conductors' booths and the SS men watching the train shot at the escapees. Yet all of them, just like myself, had decided to risk an escape, knowing that the SS men were taking us to be killed in gas chambers in Treblinka.
Chronicles of Terror (ChroniclesofTerror.pl) is an online database of testimonies of Polish citizens who suffered at the hands of two totalitarian regimes - German and Soviet - during World War II. They reflect the personal experiences of thousands of Poles and of their families and loved ones.
The first volume in the Chronicles of Terror series presents the accounts of residents of Warsaw and the surrounding area - victims of Nazi terror.
It is a moving story of a city condemned to death, told in the voices of individual eyewitnesses. Vissza
