BRITAIN
THROUGH THE LOOKING GLASS
Produced by Ted Smart
144 Pages of Colour Photographs by COLOUR LIBRARY INTERNATIONAL
Britain Through the Looking Glass contains over 200 magnificent colour photographs covering England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.
The pages of this book show many of the varied aspects of the face of Britain, through the selective eye of the camera. From the rugged, sometimes stormy, coastlines to the tranquility of the heather covered hills of the Scottish Highlands; from the timelessness of a Welsh valley to the soft green fields of Ireland.

The British character has been moulded over many centuries by a feeling of security, safeguarded by nature, an island fortress surrounded by the sea. This feeling of security has been jealously guarded and it is somewhat alien to the thinking of the people of these islands to consider themselves part of anything else, even Europe. Perhaps it is only since we have become officially Europeans that we have come to realise that the oft repeated statement "our heritage is at stake" has had any real meaning. We now look again at this heritage, at the cathedrals, Canterbury, York, St. David's, and at many other fine buildings up and down the country and realise how precious they are to us. Luckily we have at last woken up to the problem and preserving our environment has become a major issue.
The pictures speak for themselves and will give even the most avid sightseer time to sit back and remember. Vissza
