Starting Strategies is a new beginners course for students aged 14 or over. It can be used for complete beginners and falsé beginners who need a new approach - it presents a tötally new approach to language learning for students as it takes account of basic communication needs as its first priority. The materials have been very carefully planned in order that the beginner can immediately see the relevance to him/hersetf of what is being learnt. At the same time the material in Starting Strategies is highly motivating and the student will see the immediate practical application of what he is learning. The Teacher's Book contains a print-out of all the recorded material, a breakdown of the language covered in each unit and extensive teaching notes. The Recorded Materials contain the dialogues, speechwork (stress, intonation and pronunciation), listening practice, open dialogues and oral exercises. The complete recorded material is available on a set of tapes or cassettes. The dialogues, speechwork, listening passages and open dialogues are alsó available separately on cassette.
