The monograph Belgrade, the Crossroads of Centuries contains a huge number of color photographs taken from the ground and from the air. The prominent master of photography, Branislav Strugar, the holder of the title of the Master of Photography of FSJ and the bearer of the title of the Prominent Artist of Photography of ULUPUDS, has photographed, spe-cofically for the needs of this monograph, not only the wellnown tourist sights of Belgrade but also various segments of the urban ambience.
The well-made selection of 233 photographs represents an exceptional visual base for the spreading of culture of an ancient and modern city such as Belgrade. The author type approach reveals new possibilités of focusing at both well-known tourist motifs but also totally atypical urban whole In the context of artistic photography. The diversity and complexity of the selected visual motifs of the photographs of Branislav Strugar provides an enticing and so far unknown image of Belgrade.

Mlrko Magarasevic, a famous man of letters and physician of Belgrade, In a concise, but precise, interesting and appropriate manner, mentions all the more important events and personages of the complex and conflicting political, economic and cultural history of Belgrade. What we have here is a concise, but contextually rich and clever presentation of the best-known ambient and historical wholes of Belgrade.
The text of Mirko Magarasevic is written In a masterly, beautiful style, but with the feeling of love for the native city. The text has, primarily, the character of a tourist monograph, although it Is not intended for tourists only as, due to its quality and information content could be useful to both the younger and older citizens of Belgrade, as well as to those who are not.
The text of the book Is in excellent communication with the photographs taken expressly for the purpose. In brief, what we have here Is a successful combination of informative and artistic experience of Belgrade.
