This series provides the student and user of English in the professional international vk^orld of the 1990s with highly relevant learning material. The practical needs of the user in each professional area have been carefully analysed, and are used as the framework both for ranges of content and appropriate learning approach.
BANKING TRANSACTIONS provides practice in the spoken English needed by professionals and trainee professionals in the banking and financial sectors.
The topic areas have been carefully selected to facilitate understanding of the processes involved in, for example, cheque clearing, EFTPOS or the finance of foreign trade, while at the same time providing clear models for production of the language needed to explain or discuss them. Students may choose either to concentrate on those areas most relevant to their professional needs or to acquire a general understanding of branches of banking other than their own.

The acquisition of a wide specialist vocabulary is a key feature of the material and the accompanying cassette provides models for the correct pronunciation of banking terms in context.
