• Aveline Kushi is the mother of five children and the grandmother of five. She is the author of Aveline Kushi's Complete Guide to Macrobiotic Cooking, and is one of the world's foremost experts on cooking with whole natural foods.
• Wendy Esko, the mother of seven, is the author of Introducing Macrobiotic Cooking and Macrobiotic Cooking for Everyone, and coauthor, with Aveline, of The Changing Seasons Macrobiotic Cookbook. She teaches at the Kushi Institute in western Massachussetts.
