He spent eleven years in Asia, primarily in Thailand and the Malayan Peninsula, from where his hunts also extended into Iran, Mongolia, India and Borneo. During that time he traveled and explored widely in Asia from Bangladesh and Pakistan through Nepal and Indo-China, as well as the South Pacific Islands, and is intimately familiar with the continent and its wildlife.
CAPT. Brandt is a member of the prestigious Explorers Club and also sen/ed for several years as Vice-Presidentofthe Safari Club International during which time he chaired the SCI Trophy Records Committee which developed the SCI Trophy Record Book and scoring system. He has published many hunting stories as well as a diversity of articles ranging from anthropology to ornithology and authored the book "HUNTERS OF MAN" which described his experiences in Asia with man-eaters, man-killers and rogues.
After three decades of service, in a variety of assignments for the United States government, including service in World War II, the Korean War and Vietnam, Brandt retired in 1982 with the rank of Naval Captain. He now resides on a ranch in Colorado's San Luis Valley where he raises cattle and horses. Vissza
