Robert Knoth's work has been extensively published in many major European and North American publications including The Sunday Herald and Daily Telegraph (UK), Suddeutsche Zeitung, Stern and Die Zeit (Germany), NRC (Netherlands) and Mother Jones Magazine (USA). Since 1994 he has worked in many parts of the world including Afghanistan, Sudan, the former Yugoslavia, Angola, Somalia, Guinea and Sierra Leone, and in 2000 and 2001 travelled to Russia to photograph life in the villages around the Mayak nuclear complex. Between 1995 and 1999 Robert won several awards at the Zilveren Camera, the annual contest for photo-journalists in the Netherlands, plus second prize in the people in the news section at the World Press Awards (1999) and best newsphoto of 1999 in the Czech Republic. He has exhibited in many countries and lives in the Netherlands.
