Anne Morice
Anne Morice, who died in 1989, was a master of British crime fiction; the author of many successful mystery novels, she was perhaps best known for her series featuring actress-cum-sleuth Tessa Crichton. But Morice was also the author of several mysteries set among the blueprints and timbers of the real estate world. In Planning for Murder, her last novel, Morice lends her sophisticated wit and deft plotting to another developing mystery—this time, one with a yuppie-gentrification scheme at its core.
The peace of one corner of rural Sussex, England, is shattered when a plan is announced to turn Uppfield Court and its four-hundred-acre park into a "model village" for the upwardly mobile.
