Richmond Lattimore (Agamemnon) was professor emeritus of Greek at Bryn Mawr College at the time of his death in 1984. His highly acclaimed translations of The Iliad, The Odes of Pindar, and Greek Lyrics, as weil as his own Poems from Three Decades, are also published by the University of Chicago Press.

Elizabeth Wyckoff (Antigone) taught Greek at Bryn Mawr, Vassar, Wells, and Mount Holyoke College. She was trained as a classicalj scholar at Bryn Mawr and at Newnham College, Cambridge University.
