find a powerful response in the language of form. Professor A. M. Hammacher was born in Middelbo^ough, Holland, in 1897. An art cptic and art historian who häs specialized 'in the study of modern sculpture, he was Director of the Kröller Müller Museum in Otterlo 1947-63. Here he ^ established (in the garden) the world's first permanent : public outdoor sculpture museum. Currently he is Professor of Ajrt History at the Faculty of Architecture in the Technical University of Delft.
