THE PRADO PICTURE GALLERY

The Prado is situated in the centre of Madrid, and was opened in 1819. It is a three-floor building, containing 115 galleries in which there are no less than 2.000 pictures. Among them are the finest works of Velázquez, Goya, El Greco, Ribera, Murillo, Zurbarán, Ribalta, Berruguete, Alonso Cano, Sánchez Coe-llo, Morales, luán de luanes, Valdés Leal, Claudio Coello, Maino, Yánez, Pereda, Rizi, Titian, Tintoretto, Veronese, Raphael, Fra Angélico, Botticelli, Man-tegna, Bellini, Palma, Tiépolo, Correg-gio, Sarto, Bassano, Reni, Piombo, Guercino, Sassoferrato, Rubens, Van Dyck, lordaens, Van der Weyden, Memling, Metsys, Gerard David, Brueghel (the Elder), Patinir, Bosch, Dürer, Moro, Rembrandt, Poussin, Watteau, Reynolds, Romney, Gainsborough, and many other famous painters.
