The chapters include a narrative of the specific Bible story that is illustrated, a devotional reflection based upon the story, additional Scriptures on the chapters theme, and a special "Heritage Page" for you to complete in your own words. The purpose of these pages is to help show your children that the God who once walked with those in the Bible also walks with you, and will walk with them. By using the "Heritage" pages you will be passing on to your children a valuable keepsake of their spiritual heritage a heritage they have received from you.

his book is a result of the painting A Father's Heritage, which is based on the concept of a father reading God's Word to his children. In the painting, when we look beyond the scene depicted, we see illustrated a far more important event taking place. We see a father, fiiifiliing his role as the one who is responsible to introduce his children to the Word of God. As the Word is being read, the Holy Spirit touches the hearts of the children, and their youthful imaginations come alive. The result is the parade of storybook characters that fill the background of the painting.
The painting is a remarkable visual demonstration of how the power of the written word can stimulate our mind and imagination. It also shows the opportunity all Chrisdan parents can experience with their children, while sharing God's love, by teaching them the Christian foundation upon which they can base their lives. Raising our children with a respect for God's Word and the knowledge that the Bible is the greatest source of wisdom, comfort, and joy, is a heritage that can be passed on for generations. Our prayer is that God will use A Father's Heritage for just such a purpose.
