Fülszöveg

This book, superbly illustrated by 192 pages of colour photographs, allows the easy identification of 1,080 plants likely to be encountered in Britain and Europe, and will be welcomed both by the non-specialist, as well as the trained naturalist and botanist, as a valuable field companion. Nearly every plant described is shown in detail in a colour photograph, which facilitates direct identification. The arrangement of the text is by plant types and flower colours, and marginal symbols show at a glance flower shape, habitat, and distribution. The English common names of plants are used throughout, and in addition, scientific Latin names are provided against the colour plates. The use of botanical terms has been kept to a minimum, but where their use is unavoidable, their definition can be found in the illustrated glossary. The clear guidelines given by the author on how to use this Guide ensure that it will be referred to confidently and successfully. 'most valuable, scientifically... Tovább
