At each higher grade in most elementary school systems a child is expected to know additional words from a standard vocabulary list. Since so many basal readers and texts used in schools are written within this controlled vocabulary, the words used in this set of slides alsó conform to the standard vocabulary list for the grade shown on the slide. Nevertheless, many children will know on sight either more or less words than they are expected to know at their particular grade level in school. To accommodate to this, included in this Junior Set (Rl-7) are slides for each vocabulary level from Grade 1 through Grade 7. The above arrangement enables children to begin at a vocabulary level best suited to their present ability (rather than grade in school) and does not limit the level to which they can then advance. Finally, it makes it possible for more than one child to use and benefit from this one set of slides.


Since most youngsters will quickly advance from one grade level to the next as they -use these slides in the VISUALIZER, a sufficient number of slides is included for each of the seven grade levels. However, if more slides are desirable, additional sets are available at modest cost. The following sets are now available to supplement the slides in Set Rl-7. (Each set contains 40 slides spanning two grade levels-and there is no duplication of targets among sets).
